He graduated in saxophone with top marks and honours from the Conservatoire of Music \u201cGioachino Rossini\u201d in Pesaro at just 16 years of age; at 19 he obtained a diploma in clarinet. As a soloist, he won first prize at the age of 14 at the 2nd International Competition \u201cPremio Ancona\u201d (jury president Goffredo Petrassi), while with the group Baires 87 he won in 1992 the \u201cG. Tani\u201d Prize for Arts and Music. In duo with piano, he has won 12 first prizes in major national and international competitions. He has collaborated with leading symphonic and opera orchestras including Teatro alla Scala of Milan, the La Scala Philharmonic, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Teatro dell\u2019Opera di Roma, Teatro La Fenice of Venice, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, RAI Orchestra of Turin, Arena di Verona, Teatro San Carlo of Naples, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Swiss Radio Orchestra. He has made recordings for EMI, Delos, Warner Bros, Decca, and Stradivarius, and has performed throughout much of Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Japan, and China. He has held masterclasses and advanced courses in Portogruaro, Naples, Modica, Spilimbergo, Fermo, Asolo, as well as at the Hochschule in Frankfurt, the Higher Conservatoires of Granada, Valencia, Ja\u00e9n, C\u00f3rdoba, Madrid, Birmingham, and the Universities of Ia\u0219i and Denver. He is a winner of the national public competition for teaching positions in conservatoires and is Professor of Saxophone at the Conservatoire of Music \u201cGioachino Rossini\u201d in Pesaro.
