Graduated in Composition, Electronic Music and Piano with honours, Franco Venturini deepened his studies in composition at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia with I. Fedele and in performance with M. Campanella and the Trio di Trieste at the Accademia Chigiana. He attended the Centre Acanthes in Metz, the Internationale Ferienkurse f\u00fcr Neue Musik in Darmstadt and a master\u2019s degree in composition at the Universit\u00e9 Paris 8, with a final dissertation on extended piano techniques. Among the awards received: The Modern Recorder \u2013 International Composition Competition of the Musikinstitut in Darmstadt, Trio di Trieste Prize \u2013 Composition Award, Leibniz\u2019s Harmonies \u2013 Composition Competition in Hannover, Sofia Soloists Composition Prize in Bulgaria, Prix SACEM and Prix ROUSSEL in the 8th International Piano Competition of Orl\u00e9ans, 9th Forum de la Jeune Cr\u00e9ation Musicale of the S.I.M.C. in Paris, Honourable Mention at the Farnesina sonora Prize for composers of the CEMAT Federation.
He has received commissions from the Venice Music Biennale, Fondazione Arena of Verona, Traiettorie of Parma, Expo 2015 of Milan, L\u2019Imaginaire of Strasbourg. In 2022 he received the Aide \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9criture from the French Ministry of Culture for a compositional project with the ensemble Soundinitiative. He participated in PRIME (Paetzold Recorder Investigation for Music with Electronics) at the Lausanne Conservatoire and in an artistic residency at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris.
His compositions (published by Babelscores and broadcast on RAI Radio3, France Musique, Radio \u00d6sterreich) have been performed in contexts of significant importance: Venice Music Biennale, Milano Musica, Parco della Musica \u2013 Rome, Pharos Arts Foundation \u2013 Cyprus, Musikprotokoll \u2013 Graz, Musica par el tercer milenio\u2013 Madrid, Seoul University, Nanyang Academy \u2013 Singapore. Among the performers of his music are the Quartetto Prometeo, the Tr\u00edo Arb\u00f3s, and the ensembles Klangforum Wien, Divertimento, Das Neue Ensemble, Proxima Centauri. Dedicated to the performance of contemporary repertoire, he collaborates with the ensembles Soundinitiative and FontanaMIX.
