Award-winning composer in international competitions, he has conducted various ensembles while maintaining a close relationship with sound itself, continuing to perform to this day on the instrument of his initial studies. His wide-ranging interests have led him to diversify his academic training, obtaining several qualifications: Composition and Orchestral Conducting (Conservatoire \u201cA. Scarlatti\u201d of Palermo); Instrumentation for Wind Band (Conservatoire \u201cL. Cherubini\u201d of Florence); CAS Advanced Course in Ensemble Conducting and Contemporary Repertoire (Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana \u2013 Lugano); Clarinet (Conservatoire \u201cV. Bellini\u201d of Caltanissetta); Postgraduate Teacher Training in Clarinet (Conservatoire \u201cC. Monteverdi\u201d of Cremona). He has refined his conducting with P. Bellugi, M. Boni, C. Caruso, L. Marosi, A. Tamayo, and J. R. P. Vilaplana, composition with F. Correnti, and instrumentation for wind band with L. Graziosi. He has conducted the Ensemble900 of Lugano, the Orchestra of the Palermo Conservatoire, the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra of Palermo, and the Orchestra of the Teatro Massimo (2015 season), as well as the Ensemble Nova Musica of the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra at the 63rd International Week of Sacred Music in Monreale. He has conducted several world premieres of contemporary composers. With the Youth Orchestra of the High Schools of Barrafranca (Enna), he won the Gold Medal at the \u201cGiovani Musici\u201d Competition for under-18 orchestras at the University of Rome \u201cLa Sapienza\u201d (2014). He is conductor of the wind orchestra of the Accademia Musicale Euterpe (Siracusa) and of the S. Cecilia Wind Orchestra of Ispica (Ragusa). His compositions have been performed in major venues including the Zofin Palace in Prague, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Henry Le B\u0153uf Hall of BOZAR in Brussels, the Sala del Buonumore \u201cP. Grossi\u201d in Florence, the RAI Auditorium in Palermo, and the Sala Scarlatti of the Palermo Conservatoire, performed by ensembles such as the Palermo Contemporary Music Ensemble (ECM), the Carabinieri Band, the Prague Castle Guard & Czech Police Symphonic Band, and the Italian Army Band. He is a prizewinner in composition competitions, including first prize at the 2021 GMBC International Competition in Geneva, and was the only Italian finalist in the 3rd edition of the WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands & Ensembles) International Composition Contest. At the 22nd edition of the \u201cLa Bacchetta d\u2019Oro\u201d competition for wind bands, he served as a jury member. He has collaborated with the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra in Beirut as principal clarinet. He has taught theory, analysis and composition at the music high schools of Agrigento and Siracusa, and has taught orchestral and choral practice, clarinet at the Toscanini Conservatoire in Ribera (Ag), music theory, rhythmics and aural training at the Scarlatti Conservatoire in Palermo and ensemble music for wind instruments at the Vittadini Conservatoire in Pavia. Following national competitions in Italian Conservatoires (D.M. 180\/2023), for the chairs of music theory, rhythmics and aural training (Pesaro), ensemble music for wind instruments (Benevento), and theory of harmony and analysis (Cosenza).
