Born in Florence in 1959, he completed both humanistic and musical studies, graduating in Piano with honours from the Conservatoire \u201cG. F. Malipiero\u201d of Ferrara and earning a degree in Literature with honours from the University of Pisa, with a thesis in Music History. He subsequently continued his piano studies with Michele Marvulli, Paolo Bordoni and J\u00f6rg Demus. He also obtained a Master\u2019s degree in Music Production and Promotion from the University of Florence and a diploma in Music Education from the Conservatoire of Pescara. He has worked as a concert pianist, both as a soloist and chamber musician, in Italy and abroad, and has also been active in musical organisation. He has served on juries of national and international competitions. From 1989 to 1991 he directed the \u201cB. Gigli\u201d State-Recognised Music Institute in Recanati. From 1995 to 2014 he worked at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, holding various roles: from r\u00e9p\u00e9titeur to artistic coordinator. In this capacity he managed institutional relations, relations with orchestras, theatres and record companies, overall organisational coordination, artistic programming, as well as the design and coordination of training courses for theatre technicians. In 1998 he collaborated with Alberto Zedda on the creation and organisation of a Baroque music festival in Fano entitled \u201cA vagheggiar Orfeo\u201d. He has taught at many Italian conservatoires (Fermo, Parma, Piacenza, Foggia, Vibo Valentia, Matera, Bolzano, Genova, Reggio Calabria, Rovigo), teaching different subjects (Piano, Music History, Chamber Music, Piano Accompaniment). He previously held a professorship in Vocal and Piano Score Reading for Music Education at the Conservatoire in Genova and, having won a national competitive examination based on qualifications and exams in Music History, since 2007 he has been Professor of Piano at the Conservatoire of Music \u201cRossini\u201d in Pesaro, of which he served as Director for two three-year terms from 2014 to 2020. From 2016 to 2020 he was a board member of the Rossini Opera Festival and from 2016 to 2019 a board member of the Rossini Foundation. In 2017 he was appointed Honorary Professor of the China Conservatory in Beijing. From 2021 to 2024 he directed the \u201cG. Lettimi\u201d State-Recognised Music Institute in Rimini, leading it first to state recognition in 2023 and then in 2024\u2014marking the first case in Italy\u2014to its merger with the institute in Cesena, creating the new unified \u201cMaderna-Lettimi\u201d Conservatoire of Cesena and Rimini.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
