Massimiliano Rocchetta is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and Professor of Jazz Piano at the Rossini Conservatoire of Pesaro. His musical training began with classical piano, in which he obtained his diploma, and later developed into jazz and musical writing through a diploma with honours in Composition, Arranging, and Jazz Orchestra Conducting, earned under the guidance of Bruno Tommaso, a central figure in Italian jazz. This educational path contributed to shaping a solid and multifaceted artistic profile, characterised by a constant focus on the relationship between performance, writing, and conducting. Professionally active as a pianist and composer, he maintains an intense concert and recording career, participating in numerous festivals, concert series, and musical productions in Italy and abroad. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with internationally renowned musicians and artists, including Renzo Arbore, Bob Mintzer, Flavio Boltro, Fabrizio Bosso, Tullio De Piscopo, Geg\u00e8 Telesforo, and Dave Weckl, experiences that have enriched his musical language and artistic vision. Winner of two editions of the International \u201cBarga Jazz\u201d Competition (2006 and 2011), a recognition that has consolidated his position in the Italian jazz scene, he is the founder and director of the RJO \u2013 East Coast Big Band, an orchestral project with which he recorded an album conducted by Bruno Tommaso, positively received by critics and reviewed in the specialist magazine *Musica Jazz*. He has performed in highly prestigious venues, including Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and regularly collaborates with jazz and symphonic orchestras as well as chamber ensembles. Alongside his concert activity, he is dedicated to composition and music production for theatre and film. Among his most recent works are original scores for the documentaries *Lo spazio che vive*, awarded at SIFF in 2023, and *La strada che incanta* (2024): works that demonstrate a constant interest in the dialogue between music and image.
