30% extra for students with DSA (automatically granted).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other necessary compensatory tools<\/strong> based on the specific condition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Allowed compensatory tools<\/strong> according to the legislation: non-scientific calculator, video magnifier, assistance from a tutor (human reader).<br><strong>Not allowed compensatory tools:<\/strong> dictionary, formula sheet, periodic table, concept map, personal computer, tablet, smartphone, smartwatch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foreign candidates with disabilities or DSA who wish to use these accommodations must provide certification issued in their country of residence, accompanied by a sworn translation in Italian or English confirming a disability or DSA recognized under Italian law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lessons<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students with <strong>disabilities<\/strong> are entitled to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Specific technical and educational aids, also provided through agreements with specialized centres<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specialized tutoring<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students with <strong>DSA<\/strong> can use certain legal accommodations during lessons, which facilitate skills rather than content; learning objectives remain the same as for non-DSA students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Compensatory tools<\/strong> are educational and technological instruments that replace or facilitate the skill that is impaired, such as tables, concept maps, word processors with spellcheck and voice synthesis, and recorders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dispensatory measures<\/strong> allow students to skip certain tasks that are particularly difficult due to their disorder but do not affect learning, e.g., avoiding reading long passages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ministerial Directive 27.12.2012<\/strong> includes within <strong>BES (Special Educational Needs)<\/strong> all students with difficulties, including those that cannot be formally certified, extending to them \u2014 for the purposes of broader inclusion \u2014 the right to personalised learning and to the use of compensatory tools and dispensatory measures provided for DSA (Specific Learning Disorders).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students with <strong>disabilities<\/strong> are entitled to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Equivalent tests<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extended time for written exams<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assistants for autonomy and communication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Necessary aids<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific technical tools according to the type of disability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students with <strong>DSA<\/strong> are entitled to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Oral exams instead of written exams<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to 30% extra time or quantitative reduction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluation focused on content rather than form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal computer with spellchecker and voice synthesis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For AFAM institutions, the MIUR allows exams to be held in two separate sessions, using score sheets and computers with music writing software (Prot. 2623\/2011).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since DSA characteristics vary greatly among individuals, students should coordinate with their teacher well in advance to agree on the most appropriate exam format based on their abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The teacher communicates to the Examination Committee which legal accommodations the student will use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Committee records in the exam minutes which accommodations were used by the student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Frequently Asked Questions<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n  <div class=\"wrap-accordion qpc-container\">\n    <div class=\"wrap-row qpc-block-title\">\n      <h3><\/h3>\n          <\/div>\n    <div class=\"accordion-head-wrap\">\n                      <div class=\"accordion-head\">\n            <input class=\"input-menu-accordion\" type=\"checkbox\" id=\"rd69_1\" name=\"rd\">\n            <label class=\"accordion-head-label\" for=\"rd69_1\">What to Do Upon Enrollment?<\/label>\n            <div class=\"accordion-head-content\">\n            <p data-start=\"34\" data-end=\"222\"><strong><em>Access to legal accommodations is subject to submitting your certification to the Student Academic Office, which will file it in the student\u2019s personal record and notify the Director\u2019s Delegate.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"224\" data-end=\"645\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">A <strong data-start=\"226\" data-end=\"243\">DSA diagnosis<\/strong> obtained during developmental age is valid if issued by the National Health Service (SSN) or another accredited institution and if no more than three years have passed since the date of issue. Although a DSA is a chronic neurobiological condition and does not expire, the functional profile must be updated every three years for minor students; for adult students, there is no obligation to update it.<\/p>\n\n                          <\/div>\n          <\/div>\n                <div class=\"accordion-head\">\n            <input class=\"input-menu-accordion\" type=\"checkbox\" id=\"rd69_2\" name=\"rd\">\n            <label class=\"accordion-head-label\" for=\"rd69_2\">Who Is the Director\u2019s Delegate?<\/label>\n            <div class=\"accordion-head-content\">\n            <p data-start=\"39\" data-end=\"364\">The <strong data-start=\"43\" data-end=\"66\">Director\u2019s Delegate<\/strong> serves as a guide, support, and mediator for students, faculty, and families.
