Luigino Pizzaleo was born in Como in 1971. He holds diplomas in Piano, Composition, and Electronic Music. He graduated in Literature with a thesis in Romance philology on lyrical insertions in narrative texts in the langue d\u2019oc tradition, and later obtained a PhD in Performance Studies (Music History track) from the University of Florence, with a dissertation on the landscape of electronic music and improvisation groups in Rome in the 1960s, supervised by Prof. Maurizio Agamennone. He has published the volumes *Musica elettronica a Roma* (EAI), *MEV. Musica elettronica viva* (LIM), *Il liutaio elettronico. Paolo Ketoff e l\u2019invenzione del Synket* (Aracne), and *Walter Branchi. Dal segno alla circostanza* (Aracne-Bussola). In 2013 he collaborated with the University of Catania on a PRRIN project for the creation of a digital thematic catalogue of the works of Domenico Guaccero and Franco Evangelisti. He has edited the publication of Walter Branchi\u2019s writings for Aracne and has contributed essays on Musica Elettronica Viva, the Nuova Consonanza Improvisation Group, Mario Bertoncini, and others in volumes published by LIM, Editoriale Scientifica, and Il Sileno. For the latter publishing house, he helped establish, and is a member of the scientific committee of, the journal *DAT \u2013 Divulgazione Audio-Testuale*. He has taken part in various international conferences, including papers on spatialisation in Luigi Nono (Boston, Harvard\u2013Tufts, 2016), free improvisation as figural representation (London, Goldsmiths College, 2015), and interfaces and new electronic lutherie (II CIMTECO, Seville, 2008). He taught on contract \u201cHistory of Electroacoustic Music\u201d at the Santa Cecilia Conservatoire in Rome from 2010 to 2022 and at the Martini Conservatoire in Bologna from 2022 onwards. His compositions have been finalists in international competitions (including Dutilleux 2012 and Evangelisti 2009) and have been performed in Italy and at festivals in C\u00f3rdoba, New York, Amsterdam, Freiburg im Breisgau, Prague, Lviv, Belgrade, and Kyiv. He taught Italian Literature and History in vocational and technical schools from 2001 to 2023.
