Educational goals
Students completing required courses for the second level Academic Diploma in Singing will have acquired the technical and cultural competences that will allow them to fully express their interpretative personality. To meet this goal, students will closely study an overall vocal repertoire (opera, symphony, sacred, chamber) and its related techniques so that they will also learn to sing in ensembles composed of various elements. Aural training, memorization and specific knowledge related to the organizational, compositional and analytical concepts of music, and their interaction, will also be studied. Considerable attention will be paid to the students’ acquisition of proper emotional and postural control. Upon completion of the two year degree, students will have attained in-depth knowledge of the general stylistic, historical and aesthetic aspects related to their specific area. In addition, they will be able to carry out improvisation and will possess adequate skills in the use of computer technology for music. The ability to use a second European Union language will also be obtained.

Entrance Examination Program
PRESELECTION
In order to apply to the MASTER COURSE at the RCM candidates need to pass a preselection test based on a VIDEO, full body, with NO interruptions between musical pieces and NO editing (otherwise it will not be considered). Short rest breaks are allowed without interrupting the video recording.
After a brief presentation of the candidate in Italian language the video must include:
1) One opera aria in Italian language performed by heart.
2) One piece chosen from the program required for the in-person singing exam.
The OPERA ARIAS shall be performed BY HEART.
The video must be uploaded on YOUTUBE and the link must be sent to the secretariat through this form:

Based on the material sent, the candidates declared eligible will have the right to participate in the entrance exam which will take place in person at the Conservatory.
ENTRANCE EXAM
1) Performance of five musical pieces of which at least three opera arias (one must be with recitative). The pieces shall be at least by two different composers, and at least one in Italian language and one in a foreign language.
2) Sight-singing of a medium-difficulty level piece chosen by the commission.
3) Motivational interview in ITALIAN language.
The commission reserves the right to interrupt the audition at any moment.
