Locations
The Conservatory headquarters are in Palazzo Olivieri, at piazza Olivieri 5. The building is divided into “departments”:
- on the ground floor is the area known as the “Ex-medie” (entrance on the right) and the library corridor (entrance on the left);
- on the first floor (so-called “Piano nobile”) is the Sala delle Colonne (Column Hall), which accesses the Auditorium Pedrotti, the Sala dei Marmi (Marble Room) and the offices corridor;
- on the second floor is the department known as “Secondo piano”, at the top of the stairway on the left) and the “Reparto violini” or Violin Department (at the top of the stairway on the right).
Some classes (specifically music theory, rhythm and ear training) are held in classrooms in the Istituto Comprensivo “Don Gaudiano”, in Piazza del Monte, along the left side of Palazzo Olivieri. Other classes (such as Composition) are held in ground floor rooms in Palazzo Mamiani (next to Piazza del Popolo, entrance in Largo Mamiani, 13)

Contacts (Tutors)
Each department has a contact or tutor who can give you information and advice about how to organise your study plan and how the exam system works. To know who to contact, see the organization chart for each Department.
Student Council (consultastudenti@conservatoriorossini.it)
The Student Council is the body representing students at the Conservatory. Its members, who are elected every year, are included in the Academic Council (two students), the Professors’ College (two students), and the Board of Governors (one student). You can contact them for information, report a problem or to make suggestions.
Practice rooms (prenotazioneaule@conservatoriorossini.it)
When not in use for Conservatory activities, the classrooms are available to students as practice rooms. Unfortunately, spaces are very limited and it is not easy to find free rooms during teaching hours. The best times are early mornings (approximately from 8 until 10) and late afternoon (from around 18:00). Classrooms can be reserved beforehand following this procedure:
- check availability at aule.conservatoriorossini.it
- send an email to prenotazioneaule@conservatoriorossini.it 48 hours in advance indicating:
- room, date, entrance and exit time
- course, teacher, reservation reason: study, concert reharsal, etc.
- booking is finalized with a confirmation mail by the Offices.
Please remember that reservations for practice are low priority and that Conservatory activities will always take precedence. Finally, pianos marked with a red stamp or those in the Sala dei Marmi or the Auditorium Pedrotti may only be used with teacher’s authorization.
Instrument loans
The Conservatory has a good number of instruments that can be given on loan to students who need them. Loans are available for a maximum period of one year, and may be renewed. If you want to make an application for an instrument loan, you must submit a form to the Director (form available here), signed by your teacher and yourself (or a parent if you are a minor). If you require an instrument for an orchestra or group rehearsal, for example (i.e. if you do not need to bring it home), all you need to do is to sign the register in the Sala delle Colonne and return it as soon as the rehearsal is over.
Library (biblioteca@conservatoriorossini.it)
Library books can be used in the library itself and are also available for loan (with some exceptions). For any requests, you can contact the head librarian, Prof. Concetta Assenza, Dr. Sara Paoloni or Mr. Antonio Di Pinto. For more detailed information, read here.
Photocopies
The corridor of the Ex-medie area and the hall on the second floor have two photocopiers available to students and teaching staff. Cards can be purchased from the Box or in the Library. Please remember that copyright laws limit the possibility to reproduce certain works; compliance with these laws is your responsibility.
Internet
Wi-Fi access is available throughout the Conservatory. Please go to the Secretary’s office to get your password. Always remember that all your online activities are recorded in a system log. You are personally responsible for any activities carried out from your account.
